Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Palettes

Happy Friday everyone!
For many, many months I have been hearing about the "Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Palettes". EVERYONE in the Youtube community raves about them, they have a ton of colors that are super pigmented and the best thing of all is that they come in these palettes with upwards of 88 colors! That's right 88 colors!!! Do you even realize how many different makeup looks you could do with 88 colors? Here is what the palettes look like....

Here is the 88 Bright Palatte

The 88 Neutral Palette

The 88 Metal Mania Palette

They also make a blush palette, a contour palette, and several combo sets.

When I first heard about these I was skeptical about them and figured they cost a FOURTUNE but come to find out they are an average of $20 which when you do the math is a little more than 22 cents an eye shadow!!! You can get these and a lot of other things at:

http://www.beautychoice.com/

I can't wait to order these! I think I am going to purchase these over the Urban Decay Naked palette because you get way more colors for half the price!

I hope you all get inspired to order some of these palettes and if you do tell me what you think! Have a great rest of your Friday!

The Chairs at My Doctors Office

I had a pretty crazy day today (and it's not even over yet)..

-Went and got blood work drawn at the crack of dawn
-Had a doctor's appointment
-Had to go back to the blood lab because they didn't draw everything they were supposed to.

Like I said I had to go get blood work drawn this morning at 9 and then I had a doctors appointment a 1:45. (You can bet your sweet behind I went home and went back to sleep this morning haha) Anyway I walked in the doctors office and I noticed these AWESOME chairs they had in the waiting room!

You can barely see them in the picture but they are just like normal dining room chairs only they are clear plastic and I LOVE THEM!! I think they are so fun and when I get my own house I will be on the hunt for some.
Also while I was sitting in the waiting room for what seemed like 5 hours I noticed their couch and chair cushions and I really like these too!!
The poor lady at the front desk probably thinks I'm a freak for taking pictures of thier office furniture but I really liked all of it! I would totally put those cushions in my future house haha

Anyway incase any of you are wondering, my doctors appointment went fine, I've gained 8 pounds in nearly 3 months :/ but thats ok. I'm going to have to see a dermatologist about the weird acne on my chest and face and I'm actually really excited about that! Also...ATTENTION RANT FIXING TO HAPPEN...I had to go back to my lab this afternoon because these fools didn't draw my blood work right the first time! I was a little annoyed at having to get stuck with a needle twice in one day but I did meet the nicest lady while I was waiting so I guess that was a plus!

I had a pretty busy day i was on the go from about 10 until 4:45 when I'm writing this so I'm ready to lay down hahaha

Hope you all had a less busy Thusday!

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Redness Primer

I bought this product TODAY actually and I loved it so much that I had to share it with ya'll ASAP!
You can buy it from any major drug store (Walgreens, CVS, Walmart ect.) at it is usually $12-$13 for .64 oz. I bought it in the "anti-reddness" formula but they also make a "skin brightening" for light skin and darker skin.
You may be wondering why it is green...well green is on the opposite end of the color wheel from red therefor green cancels out any redness you have.

The packaging is great because it has a pump top!!! My favorite!!!

Before I go on let me make sure you guys understand how much I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I have been having some redness and pimples here lately and I heard about this stuff when I bought my L'Oreal Studio Secrets Base (which I also love) but didn't have the money at the time for both. Anyway....I went to Walgreens this morning with *gasp* no makeup on, glorious pimples and all, and bought this just so I could use it today.

I got home and applied it all over my face after my primer and...oh...sweet....Jesus....my redness pretty much disappeared. And I know you are concerned if it makes your skin green but you are supposed to apply this over your primer and under you foundation and concealer. I did this and my face looked flawless (except for Mt. St. Ashley on my forhead).

Here is what it looks like fresh out of the bottle
And here is what it looks like blended in...

As you may notice there is a slight green tinge to it but like I said once you put on foundation and concealer it compleatly disappears and your skin looks AMAZING.

Live I've said  many times in this post I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff. I haven't used it but one day so I don't know if it's going to break out my sensitive skin or not, usually I don't have any problems with L'Oreal though.
If you have this or want to try it let me know what you think!

New Video and My Excitment

I just posted a new video on my Youtube channel!! :)
It's my skin care routine.....you can watch it here

http://www.youtube.com/user/lipstickandleggings?feature=mhee

I hope you like it!

Also on a more personal note tomorrow I go register at Milan Institute of Cosmetology!

I am so excited and I can't wait to start classes August 10th. I'll be going Wed, Thurs., Friday from 8 in the morning until 5:30 at night :/. I know that sounds like a lot but that is what is considered "full time" and in only 12 months I will be done with the program and can get my license! I've been talking to the school for about a week now figuring out student loans (which are a beast but what can you do) and my schedule and everything, plus talking to my family about it because student loans are definitly something you don't do lightly. Plus who knew cosmetology school was so expensive!!! Its $17,460 for 12 months! That's crazy, but school is expensive no matter what and what other profession can you get licensed in 12 months and then go straight into the work field? Not many. But I can't wait.....wish me luck.

Hope you all have great day and I hope you stay cooler than I am! I'm outside typing this and my outside  thermometer says its 98 degrees in the SHADE!

Moulin Rouge Party aka, How To Dress Like A Hooker.

Scott, my friends Kim and Colton and I all got invited to a Moulin Rouge themed party on Saturday at our friend Lilli's house.
Now if none of you have seen that movie (which is excellent by the way), here is what the jist of their costumes look like:
(this is a photo from the music video which you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQa7SvVCdZk)

They basically look like hookers..... So going along with that theme here is what we looked like.

Our makeup:
I did a dark smokey eye on both me and Kim with winged eyeliner. I wore revlon's "Are You Red-y" lipstick on my lips $6 Walgreens)

I'll have a tutorial on the makeup up on my Youtube channel probably at the end of the week.

Our Outfits:
The Ladies-
Kim wore a red "saloon girl" type skirt (?) with lace up corset top ($15), fish nets ($5 Hot Topic) and red heels (?)
I wore a black lace up dress with a tool skirt ($30 at a costume store 3 years ago), fish nets ($5 Hot Topic), lace gloves ($2 Hot Topic), my blue heels ($96 Dillards) and my tiny top hat (which I got at a costume store a few years ago for $20)

The Gentalmen-
Scott basically wore the same thing as he did for our anniversary which was black pants  Black pin striped vest (borrowed from a friend) a white button down shirt and a tie.
Colton wore the same thing only in blue. He bought his whole outifit at Burlington Coat Factory.

I LOVE themed parties and this party was so fun! I love getting dressed up in fun outfits and fun makeup.

Here is what everyone looked like at the party:

Like I said this was so much fun, this would be a great party for any occasion (as long as little kids aren't invited haha)
Hope this inspires you to throw a fun themed party of your own!!

Fun Weekend Nails!

I'm going to a Moulin Rouge themed party tonight (I'll post pics tomorrow) and I thought I wanted to do something fun with my nails. I learned a technique called "water marbeling" a few months ago and decided it would be perfect for tonight.

Here is what they look like...

I'm going to have video with a full tutorial on how to do them probably Monday or Tuesday.
Tell me what you think :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Makeup of the Day-Blue Eyeliner

Tired of your everyday makeup routine? Want to add a pop of color to your otherwise boring makeup? Well the easiest and fastest way to acheive this is with colored eyeliner! Colored eyeliner is really great for summer and adds a fun pop of color to your eyes. The hottest shades of eyeliner are purple (which looks good on ALL skin tones), teal and blue.

You can buy colored eyeliner from nearly any makeup counter and for every price from really cheap NYC brands or the more high end Urban Decay! I love Urban Decay eye pencils but I think spending $20 on a product  I'm only going to use 2-3 times a month is a little much, so I opted for the $2.00 NYC!
However the Urban Decay pencils are WAY more pigmented and you don't really need to go over them with a shadow but I like mixing pencil and shadow so it's whatever is your preference!

Here is what the UD ones look like...
And here is what the NYC one that I have looks like...

To apply this just line your water line and outer rim of just your lower lid or just your top lid,  for a more "pow" pop of color wing out the liner on the top. I decided just to line bottom lid today.

Then over the liner I applied 2 different shades of eye shadow- a bright teal and a navy blue
Here is what it looks like after the shadow...

Hope this has inspired many of you to try this :) I think a deep purple will look great in the fall. Have a great friday everyone (or what's left of it).

Urban Decay Naked Shadow Palette-Has Anyone Tried It?

Here lately in the makeup community I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Urban Decay's "Naked" eye shadow palette.
I don't normally wear a whole lot of eye shadow because I'm one of the freaks that thinks if your going to wear a colored eye shadow then your clothes had better match haha. So the only shadow I wear on a daily basis is a fleshed toned shadow all over my lid and then a light brown in my crease, then of coarse my layers of black shadow and eyeliner.

Like I said this palette is from Urban Decay (which means its not cheap- $48) and It's mainly just a bunch of nude, beige, cream and brown colored shadows which are great for a more natural or "naked" look.

Here is what the palette looks like:
Now I would totally use 98% of the colors in the set the only 2 I'm not so sure about are the green and the light blue at the end. I'm not a forest elf or a hooker so...uh...no thanks on those but I think the rest of the colors are beautiful and I would use them on a daily basis. The good thing about these shadows also is I think they would also be great for filling in your eyebrows so its kinda like a 2 in 1 (we all know I love those).

I wanna know what y'all think! Has anyone tried it? If so tell me if it's worth it.
Hope you all have a great Thursday :)

Hello Kitty Purse and Mango Seeds

For my birthday Scott bought me the Hello Kitty purse that I have been wanting for literally....a year! We were out of town in New Orleans when it came in the mail and I couldn't wait to get home!
Here is what she looks like, my sister named her Heather because Hello Kitty is to cliche haha

 He bought this bag at

However they are always sold out and he had to pre-order it a month in advance! They also have a ton of affordable bags, not just Hello Kitty!! So go check out their website!
I love this bag, it is made out of soft fabric that has a quilted pattern printed on it. It is the perfect size to hold everything and it never hurts my shoulders, cause let me tell you I carry my life in my purse! I can't tell you enough how much I love this bag, I get compliments on it everywhere I go!! :)

On a more random note, my sister and I decided to cut open a mango pit yesterday to see what it looked like. I don't know why but I was eating a mango yesterday and one thing lead to another...and this is what happened.....

That's the seed!! It's HUGE, like the size of my palm!

and there is the "casing" or whatever you call it!

It was an interesting experiment for sure hahaha.

High Heels-Pretty Ankle Death Traps!

I don't know how celebrities do it... no I don't mean fame, fourtune and everything that goes with it, I mean I don't know how those women walk around in ankle breaking stilettos all day.
Here is a picture of Christina Aguilera wearing Christian Louboutin.

In my opinion Christian Louboutin makes some of the most beautiful (and expensive) shoes known to man, but those babies are TALL! It seriouslty confuses me how these women do it....and here is a picture of (my idol) Lady Gaga wearing some SERIOUSLY TALL shoes!

I mean come on, those shoes have got to be killing her by the end of the day. You know these poor women must go home after a long day of wearing shoes like that and just soak their feet for an hour, and not to mention what their feet are going to look like in 30 years...ew.....

Now I have always had a love for everything shoes, I'm a girl so duh, but even though I love heels I don't think the pain of wearing them is worth their hefty price tag.
However my boyfriend Scott and I's 2 year anniversary was Sunday and I was determined to look hot, hot, hot. I wanted a sexy black dress and some statement making shoes so like any smart women I started with the shoes and figured the rest would come together after that haha. I went to Dillards and was looking in the Jessica Simpson section of the high heel department (because she makes the best affordable heels) and there they were....a pair of electric blue 6 inch stilettos! I had to have them! So as soon as I recovered from sticker shock, they were $96, I walked over to the cash register and proceeded to hand over the money knowing all too well the guilt I would feel in about an hour. I kept telling myself that they were worth and that Scott would love them and plus they made me TALL, I'm normally about 5'1 but these babies make me about 5'7 which is a nice change of pace haha.

At this point I had 2 weeks to break them in and learn how to walk in them properly, with the help of my mom and sister I acheived this.
Then the day came that I had bought them for..our anniversary...I was a little nervous about wearing them all night but I just pushed those feelings aside and would deal with them later.

Here is a picture of my outfit and a nice picture of Scott and I

I was pretty good for most of the early evening, which consisted of dinner and a movie but it was the late night trip to walmart that put the cork in the bottle for my heel wearing adventure. In the parking lot of walmart a nearly broke my ankle when, from that moment on I was done! Jessica Simpson and her expensive shoes could go to hell and I walked around Walmart in my bare feet! When we got back to the hotel I soaked my poor feet in the bath tub and Scott gave me a foot massage (what a nice boyfriend).

While high heels are pretty, my feet hurt like a mother after only about 7 hours in them. Like I said before I have no idea how actresses walk in them all day or how pop stars can sing and dance while balanced on little sticks.
I think I will just stick to my flats thank you very much! haha

EXCITING NEWS! SOMETHING NEW!!

The post is going to be short and sweet because I'm so tired....but I have some exciting news (as the title suggest lol)

I am OFFICIALLY on YouTube! I started a channel a few days ago and I've posted 2 videos. I am so excited! I'm going to do product reviews, makeup application tutorials and even some nail how-to's. This is going to be a much easier way for me to show you guys things I like and how to apply them! I am just beyond excited about doing this, it took me a WHILE to get the courage up to finally film a video and post it online but I am really glad I did.

Now I know what your thinking and don't worry I am still going to do this blog and I am still going to do product reviews on here but I think I am also going to add some more personal/ daily life aspects as well!

So please go check out my channel and tell me what you think! Any feed back is really helpful :)

I hope you all have a wonderful night!

Dior Show Waterproof Mascara (Jesus in a Bottle)

I have been on the search for the "perfect mascara" for..well...since I can remember! I have tried cheap drugstore mascara, high end boutique mascara and pretty much every brand in between and I always walk away disappointed.
There is quite a lot of hype surrounding this mascara, according to their website-

"Inspired by the runway and behind-the-scenes tricks, Diorshow Mascara gives lashes a triple-shot of glamour, leaving them luxuriously thick, lengthened and curved to the max"

So when my family and I were in New Orleans we went into a Saks Fifth Ave. and I snached this mascara right up. Now this product (like any "designer" makeup) is pretty dang expensive, the only reason I got it was because my grandma bought it for me for my birthday. It retails at...are you ready... $28!

Let me just say I really love this mascara! When I first got it I was skeptical but after a few uses I am now a "Dior Addict". Here is why I love it:
Pros:
1. The sleek packaging is great and eye catching
2. I love the brush! It is HUGE and coats every lash

3. It is truley waterproff-you can cry, sweat or whatever and this mascara never budges or flakes.
4. Your lashes have that "fan effect" after only 2 coats (even though I apply 3)
5. The Mascara is very dark and makes your eye lashes very dramatic looking which I love.
6. It doesn't have a weird smell like some mascaras
7. The product doesn't dry out quickly which is a problem I've found with a lot of drug store mascaras
8. It doesn't make your lashes stiff or hard when it's dry.

Cons:
1. The only thing I don't like about it is the price...$28 is ridiculous to pay for mascara but sadly I love this product so much I will most likely shell out the dough for it again and again.

Here is what it looks like on my lashes: (note- I do have black liner on my waterline and top lashline so try and ignore that)

As I said I love this mascara! I will most surely buy this again even with the expensive price tag. After years of searching I've finally found "the one" haha Have a great Wednesday everyone!

High Beam by Benefit

As you know (or may not know) I LOVE Benefit Cosmetics! All of their stuff has really nice packaging and their stuff lasts FOREVER. You can check out thier website--

According to their website

"Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheekbones and brow bones for a radiant glow. It's known as the "supermodel in a bottle"!"

Let me just say this did not make me look like a super model haha

You can buy this product online or in most  Sephora or Ulta stores, however it will set you back a pretty penny....it usually retails for about $25 (eeek) but I had a Sephora giftcard so...

As the name would imply this product is a liquid high lighter that when applied to your cheek bones, forhead, or brow bone gives you a natural dewy "glow".
I LOVE THE PACKAGING of this product!!! It comes in a glass bottle which is actually shaped like nail polish and the application brush is even exactly like a nail polish brush! This makes applying the product really quick and easy.

Now here are some things I love about this product:

Pros:
1. Love the packaging
2. Application is really easy thanks to the "nail polish" brush
3. I love the consistency which is a mixture of a liquid and a cream...actually...it has the consistency of a thick nail polish (gotta love the nail polish references)
4. I love the dewy glow it gives to my complextion and a few days after I started using it my mom actually complimented me on how "glowy" my face looked

Now some things I don't really love:

Cons:
1. The price...$25 seems a little much for such a small amount (0.45 oz)
2. It gets a "crust" around the rim of the bottle which can make it hard to open

Now I know you may be wondering how to apply this but *gasp* you are in luck I'm going to show and tell you how!
It is really very simple....If Paris Hilton does it then I know you can too haha! Just shake up the bottle and apply whatever is on the brush in small dotting motions from the center of your cheek bones to your temples and then down your forehead (.like in the picture below)

Then with your middle or ring finger pat and smooth it out and apply whatever is left over on your fingers under your brow bone.

You can't really see it very well in the picture but once light hits it, you can really see the glow it gives off.

Also I mix a few drops of this into my foundation on the back of my hand and it really makes my foundation look dewy and smooth :).

I wasn't really into highlighters until I bought this product, but now it is something I use everyday no matter what! Even on days when I don't feel like wearing foundation (which is rare) I just use concealer and this and my face still looks great! I would definitly recomend this product for everyone with any skin type!

Love, Lipstick, and Dewy complextions!
